A Safe, Creative Space for Teens Who’ve Witnessed Domestic Abuse

Bridge17 is a new, trauma-informed programme designed to support young people aged 13–17 who have witnessed domestic abuse. Developed by Honour Thy Woman Group and facilitated by Chrysanthemum Counselling, this initiative offers a safe, inclusive, and creative space for healing, growth, and self-expression.

We understand that as a mother, your child’s emotional wellbeing is your deepest concern. Bridge17 is here to walk alongside you and your teen providing compassionate, culturally sensitive support that honours their voice and lived experience.

Creative Group Sessions

Help young people express themselves and process difficult emotions.

Trauma-Informed Support

Facilitators are trained in trauma theory, emotional regulation, and safeguarding ensuring every session is safe and empowering.

Youth-Led Design

Young people help shape the programme, giving feedback, co-creating activities, and leading awareness campaigns.

Cultural Sensitivity

Sessions reflect diverse identities and traditions, with flexible activities that resonate with each participant.

Emotional Safety

Predictable routines, opt-in participation, and clear boundaries help build trust and containment.

Bridge17 is open to young people aged 13–17 who have witnessed domestic abuse in any form. We welcome all backgrounds, identities, and family structures. If your teen is struggling with anxiety, low confidence, or emotional overwhelm due to past experiences, Bridge17 may be a gentle and creative pathway forward.

Your child’s safety is our highest priority. All staff are DBS-checked and trained in child protection, with clear reporting procedures and ongoing supervision. We work closely with schools, local authorities, and community organisations to ensure joined-up support.
