Our guide to self referrals
01
Understand what we mean by recovery
Recovery is a gradual, personal journey. It involves regaining your strength, rebuilding your sense of self, and finding new ways to face life with confidence. You can not recover whilst still in an abusive relationship.
In our programme, recovery means nurturing your emotional, mental, and physical well-being within a supportive network. Learn more about our recovery programmes
02
Choose to recover with Honour Thy Woman Group
Choosing to self-refer is a brave and important step. We encourage you to reflect on your current needs and consider how our recovery sessions can provide you with the space, guidance, and resources required to heal.
03
Decide if you want to involve your children
If you feel that your children could also benefit from support as part of your (and their) recovery process, family sessions are available. These sessions are designed to help you and your children heal together and give you the opportunity to work through challenges together under the guidance of experienced professionals.
It allows you to address family dynamics, build resilience, and support one another on the path to recovery.
04
Complete the self referral form
Fill in the self-referral form with your personal details.
Clearly indicate if you would like to include joint sessions for your children as part of your recovery process.

Accurate information is essential so that we can follow up and provide the best possible assistance.
05
Submit the form and we will contact you
Our self-referral support coordinator will be in touch to complete your registration and to start the process of your initial consultation to discuss your journey forward.

Professional Referral Requirements
We require a risk assessment and safety plan with each referral to include...
1.
Comprehensive
Risk Mitigation
Every aspect of the client’s situation (physical, emotional, financial, and relational) must be free from residual risks.
2.
Sustainable Safety Provisions
There must be clear evidence of enduring safety measures and supportive networks that ensure long-term independence.
3.
Formal Verification
A structured checklist, completed and verified by a trained specialist, confirms that all potential risks have been addressed.
Our policy requires that rehabilitation only begins once all risk factors have been conclusively mitigated.

To ensure that clients are stable and prepared for recovery, please send a risk assessment and safety plan with EVERY referral to admin@honourthywomangroup.org
