At Honour Thy Woman Group, we often talk about recovery being a journey that nobody should have to walk alone. This month, we are incredibly proud to share some exciting developments that demonstrate the growing network of people, organisations, and communities standing alongside survivors of domestic abuse across Gloucestershire.
From new corporate allies and charitable funding to dedicated volunteers and increased community awareness, there is so much to celebrate.
Welcoming Lowe Rental Corporation as a Corporate Ally
We are delighted to announce that Lowe Rental Corporation has become a Corporate Ally of Honour Thy Woman Group.
Lowe Rental Corporation is a global leader, offering an award-winning suite of rental services across refrigeration and catering equipment, kitchen infrastructure, and cold rooms. Supporting world-class events, exhibitions, major projects, and leading retailers around the globe, Lowe's commitment to excellence is recognised internationally.
As part of this exciting partnership, we are already working together on several initiatives aimed at supporting survivors and creating greater awareness of domestic abuse in the workplace.
Plans currently in development include:
Domestic abuse awareness training for managers and leaders.
A keynote speaker session during the annual 16 Days of Action Against Domestic Violence campaign.
Exploring opportunities to support women returning to employment.
Career acceleration and confidence-building support for women rebuilding their lives after abuse.
This partnership reflects a shared belief that businesses have an important role to play in creating safer communities and empowering women to thrive both personally and professionally.

Summerfield Charitable Trust Supports Nature to Nurture
We are also thrilled to announce that Honour Thy Woman Group has been awarded a £5,000 grant from the Summerfield Charitable Trust.
The funding will support our Nature to Nurture Project in the Forest of Dean, helping us continue to provide healing, wellbeing, and recovery-focused experiences for women and families affected by domestic abuse.
Nature has a remarkable ability to support emotional recovery, reduce isolation, and improve wellbeing. This funding will enable us to expand opportunities for participants to reconnect with themselves, build confidence, and strengthen resilience through nature-based activities.
We extend our sincere thanks to the trustees of the Summerfield Charitable Trust for believing in our vision and recognising the importance of trauma-informed recovery support within Gloucestershire.
Introducing Our New Volunteer Team
One of the greatest strengths of Honour Thy Woman Group is the commitment and compassion of our volunteers.
We are delighted to welcome several new volunteers who have stepped forward to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the women we support.
Peer Engagement & Empowerment Programme (PEEP) Team
Jamie S. – Intake Worker & Advocacy Support
Jamie provides the first point of contact for many women accessing support. Through compassionate listening and assessment, Jamie helps identify individual needs and ensures women are connected to the right support at the right time.
Troy C. – Wellbeing & Emotional Support
Troy supports emotional wellbeing, grounding, engagement, and recovery. This role plays a vital part in helping women feel heard, supported, and encouraged throughout their healing journey.
Rebecca T. – Confidence & Resilience Support
Rebecca focuses on confidence-building, resilience, empowerment, and progression. Through encouragement and practical support, Rebecca helps women recognise their strengths and move forward with renewed confidence.
Volunteer Experience Coordinator
Gemma D. – Volunteer Experience Coordinator
Gemma provides light-touch support to new volunteers, helping them settle into their roles and build confidence during their first three months with the organisation. A positive volunteer experience is essential to maintaining a strong and supportive team, and Gemma's role will be invaluable in helping volunteers flourish.
New Group Facilitators
We are also delighted to welcome two new volunteer facilitators who will be supporting the delivery of our group programmes and workshops.
Facilitating groups takes courage, commitment, and compassion. By stepping into these roles, they will help create safe spaces where women can connect, learn, heal, and grow together.

Raising Awareness Across Gloucestershire
We are excited to share that Honour Thy Woman Group has been featured in the latest edition of Brighter Days, published by Smile Publications.
Our feature appears on pages 22-23 and will help raise awareness of domestic abuse recovery support throughout Gloucestershire.
The publication is distributed across local hospitals, GP surgeries, and dental practices, helping ensure that information about support services reaches those who may need it most.
Awareness saves lives, and every conversation helps break the silence surrounding domestic abuse.
